Scholars have the coveted ability to manipulate SP. With Indulge, Soul Exhale, and Soul Siphon, they can readily restore, exchange, or deplete the SP of themselves, their party members, or their enemies. This exclusive ability enables their allies to use skills more freely, and is frequently combined with Magic Strings and Guillotine Fist to great effect.

Scholars also have two potent ground enchantments, Fiber Lock and Blinding Mist, which dictate the pace of combat. Fiber Lock disables movement and may be looped indefinitely, consequently limiting the target to ranged attacks and skills. Blinding Mist applies severe HIT, damage, and/or success penalties to ranged attacks and skills. These skills, in conjunction with their ability to dispel effects and manipulate SP, can lead to a frustrating experience for enemies in PvP.
